Soft-Tec Scale Control

One system. No salt.

It stops scale before it forms, and lifts what your plumbing has already collected back out of the pipe.

The water is the problem.

Anything over 10 grains per gallon is classed as very hard. Phoenix runs past that before anything else in the supply is counted.

What happens if you do nothing?

Hard water does not announce itself. It works on the parts of your house you never see until something fails.

Cutaway illustration

Scale plates onto anything that heats water. Inside a water heater it settles on the tank floor and up the dip tube, so the burner spends its energy heating rock before it ever reaches the water.

How it works

The minerals stay in. Their grip does not.

Three things happen, in order, and the third is the one nobody else in this category can claim.

01

Nucleation

The media surface mimics the structure of a calcium carbonate crystal. Dissolved hardness in your water latches onto it and forms microscopic crystals right there — before it ever reaches your pipes.

02

Release

Once a crystal grows large enough, the force of the water frees it back into the flow in a stabilized form. Stabilized crystals can't bond to metal, glass, or ceramic. They rinse away instead of cementing to your fixtures.

03

Reversal

Those crystals have enormous total surface area, so existing scale on your pipe walls migrates back into the water and leaves with it. Over time the system strips buildup that's already in your plumbing.

No salt to buy or haulNo bags, no brine tank, no monthly refills.
No wasted waterThere's no backwash cycle, so nothing goes down the drain.
Nothing to plug inNo electricity, no operating cost, no controller to fail.
Minerals stay inCalcium and magnesium remain in your drinking water.

Spotless glasswareResidue wipes away with a cloth — no cleansers needed.

Twenty-one days, one independent lab.

Two identical arms, one treated and one not, run side by side under a DVGW protocol. The conditions are published alongside the result because a number on its own proves nothing.

Soft-Tec® versus a traditional water softener.

Salt-free leaves the essential minerals — calcium and magnesium — in your water, and it will not give you the slimy soft-water feel a salt softener does. We fit both, so here is the comparison in full.

See how the installation is done

The actual installation may vary from home to home.

An Arizona kitchen at golden hour with a glass of clear water and spotless glassware on the island.

The kitchen you actually use

Drinking water, coffee, and the glassware that stops spotting after the first week.

Cross-sectioned copper pipe with clean interior walls.

Pipes that stay open

Existing buildup migrates back out over weeks and months.

A single-storey Arizona stucco home with desert landscaping at golden hour.

Sized for Arizona

Built for the pressure, chemistry, and heat this valley runs at.

What is in the canisters

Three chambers, left to right on the wall.

Nothing here is a mystery cartridge. This is what is in each one, numbered left to right as they hang on the wall. Water enters at the right-hand housing and leaves at the left, so it meets them in the reverse of that order.

The Soft-Tec® scale-control cartridge stood on a countertop: a translucent refillable housing with white threaded end caps, filled with tan ceramic media beads.
01Left housingSoft-Tec® media

The ceramic bed where template-induced crystallization happens. Dissolved lime is restructured into stabilized crystals that cannot bond to a surface.

The coconut-shell carbon cartridge: a dense carbon block wrapped in a fine mesh sleeve.
02Center housingCoconut-shell carbon

A 5-micron coconut-shell carbon filter takes out up to 99% of the chlorine, along with the chloramines, THMs, and volatile industrial compounds that travel with it. It also protects the scale-control media downstream, which is what extends its working life.

The sediment cartridge: spun polypropylene fibre wound into a dense white cylinder.
03Right housingSediment

A high-capacity sediment filter catches dirt, sand, rust, and silt on the way in. It protects your plumbing and keeps the two chambers behind it from loading up with grit.

Why homeowners pick us.

Tested, not asserted

Our scale-control media was run against a DVGW-protocol lab comparison — 21 days, 20 gpg water, 176°F. We publish the conditions and the result. Most of our competitors publish neither.

Free professional installation

Standard installation is included. We tell you before we start if your home needs anything beyond that, and exactly what it costs.

Whole-home coverage

Every tap, shower, and appliance in the house — not a single filter under one sink.

Straight pricing

One number, in writing, before we touch anything. No pressure close, no mystery line items.

Arizona-only focus

We don't work five states. We know Phoenix-metro water chemistry because it's the only water we treat.

What Arizona owners say.

We couldn't be happier with our new system. The installation was seamless, the pricing was straightforward, and the warranty gives us total peace of mind. Our water tastes amazing, and we love knowing it's clean and safe for our family.
Sarah J.Phoenix, AZ
Hybrid Water completely transformed the quality of our home water. The difference was immediate — we're saving money on bottled water, and the whole-house filter improved everything from drinking water to showers.
Jason T.Tucson, AZ
I was skeptical about filtration systems until I found Hybrid Water. Their team answered all my questions without any sales pressure. Now I can't imagine life without it. Worth every penny.
Emily R.Mesa, AZ
The system eliminated the hard water stains in our appliances, and the taste of our water has never been better. Plus the free installation was a huge bonus.

Questions we get asked.

What's the warranty?

Every system we install carries a full 10-year warranty covering the hardware against defects. If something fails, we stand behind it.

What's the difference between salt-free and a regular water softener?

A traditional softener uses salt to pull calcium and magnesium out of your water entirely — that's what creates the classic slick soft-water feel. Soft-Tec® works differently: it leaves the minerals in but converts them into stabilized crystals that can't stick to anything. You get scale protection without salt, without wasted water, and without stripping minerals from your drinking water. If your goal is specifically to remove hardness minerals, a salt softener is the better fit, and we install those too.

Does salt-free really work, or is it marketing?

It's a real, measurable effect, and we can show you the test. The media was run under a DVGW lab protocol — 20 gpg hardness water at 176°F for 21 days straight, compared against untreated water under identical conditions. The treated equipment came out with more than 99% less calcium scale. DVGW is the European equivalent of NSF here in North America.

Will it remove scale that's already in my pipes?

Yes, gradually. The stabilized crystals the system produces have an enormous amount of total surface area, so calcium already deposited on your pipe walls migrates back into the water and flushes out. It's not instant — it works over weeks and months — but it reverses buildup instead of just preventing new buildup.

Is my water a good fit for a salt-free system?

Soft-Tec® needs hardness under 75 gpg, water pressure between 40 and 100 psi, and essentially zero iron, sulfur, and manganese. Most Phoenix-metro city water fits comfortably. Well water often doesn't without pretreatment first. We test your water before recommending anything — that's the whole point of the free consultation.

What maintenance does it need?

No salt, no backwashing, nothing to plug in. The chemical removal pre-filter that protects the system does need periodic replacement, and we'll tell you the schedule for your water. That's it.

Do you have financing?

Yes — zero-down financing is available. We'll walk you through the options during the consultation so you can see the monthly number before you decide anything.

What does installation involve?

Standard installation is included. If your home already has a softener loop in the garage it's straightforward. If not, we work through the options — attic access on single-story homes, or coming through the garage wall — and tell you the cost up front if anything extra is needed. Nothing gets added to your bill mid-job.
